The FTdx10 is a Hybrid radio utilizing Roofing Filters and conversion whereas the FT-710, more like the ICOM IC-7300 is a true, straight, SDR radio.. I like my FTDX10 but don't use all the features and wish it had better ergonomics, and was a bit cheaper. So the 710 sounds good. At least as good as a 7300. Yeasu FTDX10 has dedicated Width and Shift knobs, which I prefer.
