An ECG records the electrical activity of the heart along paths called leads. Each lead traces the electrical activity between 2 points. A typical ECG records 12 different leads using 10 electrodes. Each lead records the same electrical impulses on the ECG, but from a different position in relation to the heart.V1: 4th intercostal space at the right sternal edge.
